American Pilgrims, Puritans

Met some friends downtown today who heard of our tours through another fine Christian organization in Plymouth, MA who likes to talk about the faith of the Separatist Pilgrims who founded our nation in the early 17th century. I am very happy that we keep giving each other pilgrim business. Today’s pilgrims opted for both my tours back to back (a first in the history of the company!) Book now while the extreme cold holds off and a walking tour is still pleasant.

Was downtown again yesterday with the second half of our homeschool group. Students asked lovely questions and one wondered if the name Boston came from “Town of the Bosses”. I of course taught them all about St. Botolph (and how to say his name with the emphasis on the second syllable).

Great time to tour Boston with weather a bit cooler than the rest of the country. Book your tour now!

Happy to be downtown Boston again today with my favorite Home School group, Classical Conversations. We discussed my favorite 17th century Puritan, Rev. John Eliot. Doing it again next Monday morning in case any others care to join us!

Had the good fortune to tour an older family for our faith-based freedom trail tour. Found this wonderful monument to the Boston Massacre on the Boston Common that I have never seen before:

custom tours, Revolutionary War

Hello dear fans of faith-based tours of Boston. So happy to finally see Boston again in this middle of May with a group of Orthodox Christian homeschooling families. It was strange and very exhilarating to be downtown Boston discussing our fair city’s 400 year old existence. This picture below from Granary Burial Ground demonstrates that we even threw in quite a bit of Revolutionary War material, something I very rarely do. Wish I could say there were tons of tour guides to go with the recently unmasked tourists, but alas, it was just yours truly and maybe 2-3 additional walking tours.

Here’s to hoping for a much more fruitful summer for all who come to Boston looking for guidance of all kinds both tourist and spiritual.

Had a small little summer program downtown today, giving them a customized tour near the Public Garden. Always love an excuse to show off my favorite city!

Met some new friends downtown right after our Patriot’s Day and Marathon Monday here in Boston. One of my guests was even a runner in the Boston Marathon! Would love to meet others coming to our great city to describe the story of faith and freedom in this land of the free and home of the brave. Give me a call or text at 315-975-2758, and book your tour today!

Greetings everyone on this 4th anniversary of our tour company. We have had a great fours years together seeing downtown Boston through the eyes of faith. It is with heavy heart that I announce the temporary suspension of our little fledgling company as its only guide and director (me) is moving with my family to upstate New York, land of the Second Great Awakening and the Burned Over District. motto of Boston

Friend of mine found this etched into a sidewalk in Boston’s financial district. It is the translation of the Latin motto for the city of Boston Sicut Patribus, Sit Deus Nobis, “As God was to our Fathers, so may he be to us.”
